International data transfers: acting on Brexit and Schrems II

I think that the potential impact of terminated data flows can be naturally much more adverse to the operations of a company than fines.  (Magali FeysAnonos)

We gather that there are two topics on your mind that have nothing to do with the pandemic: Brexit and Schrems II. However, the pandemic led to a rise in the use of digital working tools and undoubtedly also to increased cross-border data flows. Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all solution for your challenges. An adequacy decision for the UK is not guaranteed and the uncertainty will continue for some time.

In this webinar we walk you through the obligations of Data controllers to conduct a detailed examination of the circumstances surrounding each transfer, the adequacy of protection in the country to which the data will be transferred, and the parties processing the data and the possible remedies, mitigations actions and the extend of these obligations.

Mrs. Anneleen Van De Meulebroucke, Senior Attorney at Eubelius, will summarize the latest developments, the guidelines from the EDPB and the Belgian authority and elaborate on the key preparations you can make to stay ahead.

Mr. Bart Van Buitenen, Director Expertise at Cranium Privacy & Security, will explain to what extent technical measures help ensuring regulatory compliance and the control of the data transferred.

If you wonder whether encryption or pseudonymisation could serve as a quick fix to continue cross-border data transfers, you should join this webinar.  We hope to give you inspiration on how to achieve a defensible position for lawful data transfers.
