As increased technological complexities and data-based business practices become an integral part of our society, consumers need more ways to gain individual control over their personal data. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) addresses this need by introducing several new principles aimed at empowering individuals.

With the second anniversary of the GDPR only months away, the Cyber Security Coalition and Beltug would like to evaluate the GDPR from the perspective of the data subject, to assess its effectiveness in actively enhancing individual control.

As from May 28th, we will organize a series of Webinars to address key issues and questions, such as:

  • How to address the challenge of using consent appropriately, collecting consent transparently, freely and explicitly; and avoiding consent fatigue?
  • The usefulness and feasibility of challenging privacy-related decisions with external stakeholders;
  • How individuals can  control their multiple digital identities in a self managed way;
  • The impact of recent case law on the right to be forgotten: data subjects see it an absolute right, but is it?

Expert speakers will share their insight, so that we will all be better equipped to understand these issues. We then count on you and the other participants to spark a discussion that will help us to develop a transparent and better functioning relationship with data subjects.
