The Cyber Security Coalition is organizing several experience sharing activities on the NIS Directive with the aim to bring together the needs of security professionals, public authorities, and the relevant industries for a constructive dialogue and exchange of experiences on implementation approaches and issues.

These activities fit within the ‘Cybersecurity in Industry 4.0’ project – a living lab focussing on industrial security. This project has been launched by HOWEST/ UGhent and is funded by the Vlaio (Flemish government). The Cyber Security Coalition is a partner of both academic institutions in this project.

In previous workshops we discussed NIS implementation in the water distribution industry and transport sector. In a new series of webinars we are going to put the digital infrastructures and Digital Service Providers (DSPs) in the spotlight.

Webinar – 11 June 2020 – 2:00 p.m. – A testimonial from DNS Belgium – Kristof Tuyteleers, Information Security Officer

Implementing a cyber resilience programme aligned to international standards is an effective way for DSPs to comply with the NIS Directive. Kristof Tuyteleers will highlight the power and flexibility of the Statement of Applicability in ISO/IEC 27001 certification and address the differences between management standards, technical standards and best practices based on several cases to which DNS Belgium has contributed.  He will also explain the technical measures implemented by DNS Belgium over the past five years, which are very relevant for NIS compliance.

Webinar – 17 September 2020 – 2:00 p.m. – The NIS challenges for Digital Service Providers – Kurt Callewaert, Head of Research Applied Computer Sciences at HOWEST

Digital Service Providers (DSP) have to identify and take appropriate and proportionate technical and organizational measures to manage the risks posed to the security of network and information systems which they use in the context of offering services of  Online marketplace, Online search engine or Cloud computing service. What about DSP who is subcontractor of OES ?
