The Belgian Centre for Cybersecurity blocks 1500 fake sites thanks to suspicious@safeonweb.be

In 2018, thanks to the massive help of the Belgian population, the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) managed to block an average of 4 fraudulent websites per day. In total, 1478 fake websites were blocked.

In 2018, the Belgian population forwarded 648522 e-mails to [email protected] Forwarded emails are automatically scanned by our software called BeFish. First, e-mails are identified using URLs. Then, the anti-virus technology detects the suspicious links contained in these emails and forwards them to EU Phishing Initiative. This organization then blocks phishing sites through collaboration with 4 browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. This is how together we will make the Internet a safer place.
