Attention aux fraudes

Responsible for consumer protection in the financial sector, the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) is launching a new awareness campaign. This campaign helps to identify investment and credit fraud as well as the actions to be taken when you are a victim of such a fraud.

Avoid fraud: if an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is!

Have you just received a credit offer or a proposal for investments or financial services, and you would like to know if you should go for it? Be vigilant, as there are a lot of fraudulent offers in this sector that target Belgian consumers.

Last year, the FSMA received 1,555 reports from consumers concerning such fraud. This is an increase of almost 30% compared to 2019 and almost 50% compared to 2018.

Recognize and avoid fraud

Do you suspect that the offer being made to you may be fraudulent? Have you been the victim of investment or credit fraud and you don’t know what to do? Find all the useful information on the FSMA’s Beware of fraud website.
